Waning Moon: Releasing, Refining, Reflecting

The autumn of the lunar cycle, time to focus on ourselves and preparing for winter. This is the time to tidy up any loose ends, reflecting on this lunar cycle and decluttering the house and the to do list.

The Waning Moon signals a shift from doing to being. It’s the natural time for reflection, refinement, and preparation for rest.

The moon is getting smaller and as our energy begins to dim, it is time to get super intentional on what is worth our precious energy or not.

Why Is This Phase Important?

I love this phase. I procrastinate... a lot. But this phase gives me that burst of energy and mental focus to get things finished. Last waning moon I batched 24 videos (which are scheduled to go out weekly to tell you all about each lunar phase), this would usually have taken me months to film, edit and schedule but instead took me 4 hours. This is also a brilliant time to review important documents, you will be better able to concentrate and take in the information.

How to Work with This Phase:

  1. Declutter Tasks: What can you cross off the list? What do you really want to be spending your energy on.

  2. Say No: Honour your time and energy and put those loving boundaries in place.

  3. Support Your Body: Magnesium, grounding foods, slower pace. Consider exercise like pilates and yoga (especially restorative forms).

Real Talk From Me:

I had heard about other business owners batching tasks like content creation, but honestly, every time I tried it just felt so hard... now I schedule the recording in the full moon and then sort all the editing and uploading for the waning moon it is so much easier. It takes so much less time and energy. I also find myself on cleaning and decluttering sprees when normally I wouldn't have the energy for it.

How to Start Living in Alignment with the Waxing Moon phase of the Lunar Cycle:

1️⃣ Awareness first — simply start noticing how your energy, mood, and focus change with the waxing moon. What action could you take this week with the spring energy to give you a nudge?
2️⃣ Track it — use a lunar calendar with all the essential dates so you can plan in advance around the lunar cycle (included in my Cyclical Wisdom Vault to make it super easy).
3️⃣ Make small adjustments — start planning your rest, work, and social life around your natural energy. Each week I post a reel on my Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and LinkedIn accounts to provide advice on how to maximise the current lunar energy so head on over to get the latest tips.

You can also subscribe to my email newsletter to receive these via email if you are not on social media.

I’m Claudia — life coach, registered nurse, self-love advocate, and cyclical living guide.
I’ve been where you are: exhausted, pushing through, wondering why things felt so hard.

When I started working with my cycle instead of fighting it, everything changed. I stopped feeling guilty for needing rest. I started planning my work and family life in a way that actually worked for me. And the result? More peace, more confidence, more me.

It’s not about doing more — it’s about doing things differently.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

Q: Why do I get irritable in the waning moon phase?

A: This is a sign from your body that you need to set boundaries. You are spending all your time running around doing things to please others but ignoring what you truly need and its stressful. Prioritise what you need to do first, rest and then make a decision on what support if any you can give to others.
